Boat Trips / Cruises on the Fjords
If you want to experience the beauty of the fjord, there is no better way of doing so than by taking one of the boats or ferries that sail on the narrowest and most picturesque fjord arms.
Most boat services run from 1 May until 30 September, and some services run throughout the year.

The car ferries between Gudvangen, Kaupanger and Lærdal run daily from 1 May until 30 September.

Modern express boats depart Sogndal for Bergen daily throughout the year. On their way to or from Bergen, these boats call at several villages along the fjord, including Leikanger, Balestrand and Vik. From 1 May to 30 September express boats also run daily from Flåm to Leikanger, Balestrand and Bergen.

Sognefjorden A/S offers cultural and historical fjord cruises. The boats sail between Kaupanger, Lærdal and Ofredal and between Lærdal, Kaupanger, Flåm, Undredal and Styvi. They carry fishing equipment on board, and the boats make stops for fishing. See their website for timetables and booking.
